Our 100th store opening is coming up here shortly...and it's pretty exciting. The actual opening date of this store is on the 15th of July (a Tuesday), but on the 14th of July there will be a blow out party. What's this all about?....well it doesn't matter who you are customer (new or old), staff or employee, owner operator, competiton, parents, friends, kids, neighbors, admirers, co-workers...You get the idea, come on by and share, tell stories, and B-Happy!

Something old....I've been lookin at this photo for several days. It's been buggin' me 'cause I've been tryin' to figure out what store it is....but i woke up in the middle of the night and it dawned on me this was our second office....in Old Town Lansing. These were the early years....we only had a few stores.....good memories!

I was in metro Detroit all day yesterday and had a big day...I got back late, so I'll catch you up on the exploits later. This morning I have an 8 o'clock, and then off to GR. I should get a chance to settle into some writing later today! Smile and think 100 :)

BIGGBY COFFEE - BIG RAPIDS, opening day :)
Wow…these guys are on fire…and they understand the ‘BIGGBY way!’ I didn’t really have the time to visit…I was chained to a desk today until 1pm, and then I had the privilege to see some HB students make presentations on BIGGBY cafes (top notch job….btw.) But I got there anyway :) and I'm glad I did!!!
Life is good, people are strong, and Big Rapids is the luckiest place on earth right now…. I cannot imagine a better set of operators…I have had the opportunity to interview Julie and Tammy several times….each occasion was an honor. They have it! The ‘Chi’, the ‘Midas’…the right PE ratio! It never fails…the power of positive thinking and pure focus overwhelms everything else….I am so impressed…Watch!
B Heard Hotline -- BIGGBY OFFICE EL
So, I am working the hotline today, as I do several times a month. I love doing this, but I have some anxiety about it today...because there are openings today in Macomb Township and Big Rapids respectively. I had promised Big Rapids I would make it up there today, but I am not sure that will happen as expected (but certainly by the end of the week). Tommorrow I intend to head South to visit both Macomb and Madison Height...see you guys then. See you too Sandy Green! Take care :)

Cherry Freedom Freeze
Nigel enjoys the day....and a beautiful one it was. A lot is happening right now. Madison Heights opened Friday after much 'to do' with the City and Landlord....but now onwards and upwards. Other openings are Big Rapids and Sterling Heights. This week is a little quirky for me, with obligations Monday and Tuesday...but I should get to see everybody by Wednesday :) I'll be out early today on my way to AA...I have meetings there, but I was thinking about getting over to the BIGGBY on Liberty across from the Borders....maybe I'll see Nigel or George.

"Mike Waltersdorf wants to thank his father, Leigh, for helping make his dream a reality.
The 42-year-old Ann Arbor resident recently opened the doors to his first Biggby Coffee on Grand River Avenue, in Novi, May 6.
The father and son duo planned to be partners in the business until Leigh, 64, of Okemos, was diagnosed with terminal brain cancer and had to take a step back, handing the majority of the reigns to Mike.
“My dad helped make this happen, and I can’t thank him enough,” Waltersdorf said. “Dad was diagnosed around the time we made the decision to open and it was a decision between him and my mother, Sue, to carry on.”

I was on my way to Meijers Garden the other day and saw the same billboard. I thought the same thing....time to get this changed! We had a big job in changing the name, but we still have a few things out there....including some store signs and these billbaords. I love this picture!

BIGGBY COFFEE _- Kenosha
Well, I am about ready to go....but I just wanted to drop a line. I have been here about 2 hours...and it is one of the most pleasant experiences I have had in a BIGGBY COFFEE. I hinted at it earlier, but I want to say it again and a little differently....this reminds me a lot of the first store, not in it's physical appearance, but the way the people are. There is strong personality mixed with a very clear sense of community...it feels good to just be in here, ya'know? I love it, and the only thing that could make it better....is if was closer to my home. Or, maybe I should just move here...'course I would have to adjust to the idea of bein' called a Cheesehead (ouch)... :)
I came here to see one of my favorite blog-watchers, before she moves to Fond du Lac (sp?), but alas she is off on a day trip today. When she found out I was here (from the staff and customers), she called me to let me know the she was sorry to have missed me....it was all very cool....one of the coolest things in a long time....I love this place.
I have several videos to download from this trip....but I won't get back till late, and tommorrow we have a Discovery Day first thing in the morning. Look for them sometime in the late afternoon. Back on the road....

Wow, it was nice to get up there....and these guys (gals) have a beautiful store and a great location. I had a chance to drive around campus and so on....They are the best game in town!!!
They will open two weeks from today....check it out!
I finally found internet....in Kenosha, WI
Yep I'm here in Kenosha and I left about 5am in the rain, but it's sunny skies here. I was met by a great BIGGBY team and Liz the owner of this store. I gotta tell you, I have never felt more at home than right here! What a great BIGGBY experince....this store is perfect! More later....:)

BIGGBY COFFEE - Davison
Well I made it to Davison and I love the location! I ran into the crew building-out the store...they were a little apprehensive at first (I never introduced myself), but they caught on and figured out I wasn't from OSHA (although they shoulda' been wearing saftey goggles even though they make you look funny)..... we talked for a while after filming and had a good laugh. BTW I am definately taking the car back to the dealer...something is not right about it...I can't even hear the radio, ya'know?

I got my car back this week from Crippen Auto here on the West Side of town...but I don't think they fixed what needed fixen', it's still makin a lotta noise in the back wheels...but I had to get out there and see what's goin' on. So I'm headed to Davison (which is straight east on I-69), but on the way I take a detour to see where things are at in Owosso. It's about twenty minutes outta' my way, and thunder showers are threatening...but I don't mind :) Take a look

I give a roasting tour to PERCULATORS on a regular basis....it becomes part of their training. We had about 15 people and it was great...at the end of the tour I interview Maria, because she has her kazoo....and she plays it for me....Watch!

Attending Capitol Day
Every year the Michigan Restaurant Association puts on this event at the State Capitol where you can visit your State Legislators and chat with them about current issues. MRA link
My car is in the shop...won't be ready untill tommorrow....and so I decided to go at the last minute.
I will be heading downtown this morning and signing up around 9:30(sign up is on the ground floor of the Boji Tower.)Hopefully I will get a chance to stop into one of the BIGGBY's while I'm mucking about between the various buildings.

In town today
