On a recent weekday autumn morning at Biggby Coffee in Gaylord, a woman sat quietly working on her notebook computer while sipping a latte, a family with young children excitedly planned their day while enjoying a variety of specialty drinks, meanwhile a scattering of planned and impromptu business meetings took place over coffee at several tables. Bistro, Café, Expresso Bar or just plain old Coffee Shop, by any description Biggby Coffee is a wonderful “take a break” establishment offering scrumptious beverages, WiFi accessability, and a cozy, comfortable ambience that is quickly becoming THE gathering spot for people of all ages and walks of life.

Biggby Coffee offers the perfect blend of atmosphere, convenience and perhaps best of all, fantastic selection of caffeinated, decaffeinated, steaming hot, freezing cold, yet always tasty beverages.

The phenomenal growth of the company is an indication of the satisfaction their customers enjoy. Founded by Fish and Mary Roszel, the enterprising couple opened the doors of their first store in East Lansing, Michigan on March 15th, 1995. Today, Biggby Coffee (formerly known as Beaner’s), has over 100 locations in nine states throughout the Midwest and Southeast.

With a prime Gaylord location at the intersection of I-75 and M-32, Biggby Coffee has enjoyed tremendous success since Nick Spadafore and his wife Chanin opened their establishment back in June of 2007. The couple has inspired a refreshing spirit of enthusiasm and top-notch customer service among the outstanding staff at Biggby, creating an atmosphere that is as fun to work in as it is to frequent for their customers.

Nick states, “We have had a great staff since day one. Chanin has been very supportive in helping set up the business and she continues to work with the staff and takes care of our accounts payable each week. I greatly appreciate everyone’s hard work every day.”

Biggby Coffee has consistently lent their support, and often free coffee, to community events and activities around Gaylord. A recent example is the “Young Artists’ Mural” program spearheaded by South Maple Elementary art teacher Chantal Fennell. Third grade students created an original art work which is being displayed at Biggby on Wednesday, November 5th and Sunday, November 9th from noon until 2 pm. During those times, Mrs. Fennell will be guest barista, and $1 for each beverage sold will be donated to the art department.

While many of the beverages sold will be selected from the several blends of coffee brewed from beans the proprietors of Biggy Coffee have meticulously search the world for, the menu also includes an incredible array of specialty drinks (made with or without coffee) including Crème Freezes in several fruit flavors, chilled Mochas, Lattes, Cappuccinos, Espressos, Teas and a seasonal favorite, Hot Carmel Cider.

Biggby Coffee is open 6am to 10pm Monday through Saturday, and 7am to 10pm on Sundays. Stop in or drive-thru and try a tasty cup!

Nick -
You Chanin & your staff rock! I guess your chief competitor realized they didn't stand a chance and fled town.
Keep up the great work.
